UEFA club coefficient ranking: Premier League possibly securing additional Champions League spot

With the Champions League competition set to welcome 36 teams when the 2024/25 season begins, English football may get a fifth Champions League spot.

On Thursday, Premier League teams West Ham, Liverpool, Brighton, and Aston Villa all won their respective matches, increasing England’s score in UEFA’s coefficient table.

This put England in a good position for securing the final European Performance Spot, specifically connected with the binary Italy and Germany struggle.

Germany needs three teams to progress further in Europe, including Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League quarter-finals in order to secure their position.

The ranking in UEFA’s coefficient list has Italy on top with Germany second and England in third.

Therefore, Thursday’s result could potentially see the Premier League get another Champions League spot for next season.

Meanwhile, the likes of France, Spain,Czech Republic, Belgium, Turkey, Portugal and Netherlands all completed the ranking in UEFA’s coefficient top ten list.
