Europa League: It’s clear – Xabi Alonso picks favourite team to win trophy
Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso has picked Liverpool as the favourite teamto win the Europa League this season.
Liverpool have made their way to the quarter-finals of the Europa League after an 11-2 aggregate victory against Sparta Prague on Thursday.
However, Alonso, a former Liverpool midfielder believes can win the Europa League this term.
For me it is clear. I really see Liverpool as the favourites to win the Europa League.” Alonso said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have been drawn against Atalanta in the quarter-finals.
Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen have been drawn against West Ham United.
