EPL: Ex-Chelsea player, Joe Cole makes top-four prediction

Former Chelsea star, Joe Cole has backed Tottenham Hotspur to ‘nick’ the final top-four spot in the Premier League table despite missing the chance to overtake Aston Villa after drawing with West Ham on Tuesday.

Tottenham are in fifth position with two points behind Aston Villa (fourth position) with eight games remaining.

The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are expected to battle it out for the first, second and third positions on the log this term.

However, Cole feels Spurs will qualify for the Champions League and finish ahead of Villa.

Asked for his take on the top-four battle after Tottenham played 1-1 at West Ham, Cole said on TNT Sports: “I think Spurs could nick fourth.

“They were the surprise package for me at the start of the season given they brought in Ange and we all saw what he did at Celtic.

“Aston Villa’s campaign in Europe will take something from them.

“I can see Tottenham hunting them down.”
