Emeka Ojuwkwu Is A Prodigal Son – APGA National Chairman States
The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, National Chairman, Dr. Victor Oye on Wednesday described late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu’s son, Emeka Jnr’s defection to APC as not important to the re-election of Obiano, adding that Emeka “he is a prodigal son for now”.
Chief Oye, who made this known during a press briefing said Ojukwu Jnr can join any political party of his choice adding that he would still come back to the party his father and himself started, ‘his root is APGA’, he said.
Emeka, on his part revealed his reason to join APC on saying it was his way of protecting the interest of the Igbo people, in his words, it’s time the people of the South-East region to move from ”the recession of the periphery to the centre.”
It is time to leave the shadows for light. Every now and then, they come out with my father’s shadow to confuse the people, he said.
Emeka, according to Vanguard said APGA is a means to an end but not an end itself. He also revealed the reason his father joined the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) in the Second Republic, saying it was to ensure that Igbo people remained in the mainstream of Nigerian politics.
Mr President, I am proud to stand here today in support of you and in solidarity with the APC and our candidate, Tony Nwoye, he added.
