A man, Yusuf Kalange, who is a very big supporter of EPL football club, Liverpool in Iganga town of Uganda, reportedly succumbed to a stroke last weekend while watching the English Premier League game between rivals Manchester United and Arsenal, and later died.

According to a report by Daily Mirror, the Liverpool fan who was surprisingly rooting for a Manchester United win, struggled to breathe when Olivier Giroud's 89th-minute equaliser earned Arsenal a point, denying the red devils the much-needed win.

Kalange’s death was confirmed by his son, Yakuti Kalange, who said his 67-year-old father, died of stroke this morning at Nsambya hospital in the country.

A relative he was watching the match with on Saturday last week, in a makeshift hall called Umbwa Video hall in Iganga town, revealed that Kalange, a Liverpool fan, was rooting for a Manchester United win irrespective of the rivalry between the two clubs.

He said the deceased jubilated when Juan Mata scored the opening goal for Manchester United. The trouble however started when Arsenal equalised in the dying minutes of the game as the man suddenly became tense before later appearing to struggle to breathe. By the time the game ended Kakonge had collapsed in the video hall.

On his Facebook page, Yakuti posted that on November 20, his father developed a astroke and as a result was rushed to Nile International hospital in Jinja before being referred to Nsambya hospital in Kampala where he died.

He wrote: “He had a stroke and the scan showed that his brain was badly damaged.”
