SEE Why Leicester City Earned More Money Than Real Madrid In The Champions League Last Season

Leicester City earned more money from the Champions League last season, than eventual winners Real Madrid.

There was a total of €1.4billion (£1.25bn) in UEFA’s prize fund for the 2016/17 competition.

The former Premier League champions banked a whopping €81.7million (£73.2m), despite getting dumped out at the quarter-final stage.

Real who beat Juventus in the final, received €81million (£72.6m).

Juve’s €110.4million (£98.9m) was the most earned by any side in last year’s competition.

Premier League and Serie A clubs took a greater share of the money, due to the TV deals being more valuable in England and Italy.
