Ibrahimovic apologizes to United fans for missing Arsenal match

Manchester United striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has apologized to the club’s supporters, after he picked up a yellow card that rules him out next week’s Premier League clash with Arsenal.

The Swedish striker picked up his fifth booking of the season, as they returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Swansea on Sunday.

Ibrahimovic had a good outing however, as he ended his barren run in front of goal with a first-half brace, after Paul Pogba opened scoring.

“In England, the football is hard, it’s physical. I just have to accept it. I’ve got to be professional,” he told MUTV .

“I’m sorry I am suspended for the next game.

“I wish I wasn’t as it’s a game I really wanted to play in.

“But I have trust in my team-mates and the team and I know they can do fine also without me.”

Manager Jose Mourinho, has said that Ibrahimovic has proved those who criticized him during his goalless run wrong, with his performance at the Liberty Stadium.

He told MUTV: “I used to say that a striker who doesn’t score goals and does nothing else is one player less.

“But a striker that doesn’t score goals but does everything else is a very important player for the team. He wasn’t scoring goals but he was doing everything else.

“He was working defensively, in the build up and the second phase of the attack, he was giving assists and contributing towards the goalkeeper that was playing against us always being the man of the match.

“He was doing so many things that I wasn’t worried but today we needed goals and he got them.”
