RUMOURS: Chelsea turn to Kone

Antonio Conte has identified the Sunderland centre-back as a possible target if the Blues fail in their bid to bring the Napoli man to Stamford Bridge this summer

Chelsea are eyeing a move for Sunderland defender Lamine Kone, according to theDaily Mail.

Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly remains Antonio Conte's main defensive target, but the Italian is now beginning to look elsewhere as the new Premier League season draws near.

Kone - who is also wanted by Everton in the wake of John Stones's departure to Manchester City - impressed for the Black Cats as they retained their Premier League status in dramatic fashion.

And those performances have alerted the Chelsea hierarchy, who are also keen on Benfica's Viktor Lindelof.
