Flamingoes can win U-17 Women’s World Cup – Olajide

Head coach of Queens All Stars, Olajide Royal, has expressed his confidence in Nigeria’s U-17 women team, stating that they have what it takes to win the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan.
Olajide was speaking, after the Flamingoes beat his team 8-1 in a friendly match.

“First, I met what I expected from the team and in terms of team work, they are well grounded,” he told Goal.

“The technical aspect is quite good and honestly I believe the players can go to Jordan and do the country proud in the U17 Women’s World Cup.

“I hope the NFF can arrange a eight-team competition for them to get them well-prepared.

“Playing games without losing is a deceit to good preparation. When they play and lose, it will make them sit tight and repackage.

“They can win the tournament if they approach each game with high level of confidence and determination.”

The Flamingoes will tackle Brazil on October 1, in their first match of the World Cup, at the King Abdullah II International Stadium, Amman.
