Super Falcons: Ordega denies regretting playing for Nigeria

Super Falcons midfielder, Francisca Ordega has denied expressing regrets playing for Nigeria at the senior level.

The player was quoted yesterday as saying that due to lack of support from the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, and unpaid bonuses and allowances, that younger players may be deciding against playing for the country.

She allegedly said, “If I had not played for Nigeria at full international level, trust me I would have played somewhere else.

“The U17 and U20 teams have been blamed for the performances at their recent World Cups, but they were poorly prepared for these competitions.

“If this continues, Nigeria will soon cease to be a force in Africa because there will be no future Super Falcons.”

But reacting on morning sports show on Channels television on Wednesday, the US-based forward denied making such statement, saying that there was no way she would have made such statement.

Ordega said Nigeria made her what she is today and there is no way she would consider dumping her fatherland for any place in the world.

She said having enjoyed when things were better, there was no way she would turn her back on the country now.
