Marco Reus has been confirmed as the star who will be on the cover of EA Sports video game FIFA 17.

A massive 3.1 million votes were cast by fans over a two week period, to decide who would be the face of the latest edition of the popular football game, with Real Madrid's James Rodriguez, Anthony Martial of Manchester United, Chelsea star Eden Hazard and the Borussia Dortmund attacker being the contenders.

And it was Reus, set to wear the captain's armband for Dortmund next term, who emerged victorious and spoke of his delight at earning his place on the cover.

“I’m honored to join a very distinguished group of footballers to appear on the cover of FIFA,” said Reus.

“Most of all I am humbled that the fans have chosen me, and I will strive to make them proud with my performance on the pitch.”
