Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has revealed that he has recovered from his hamstring problem and is "good to go".

The injury-prone international has been sidelined since his side's 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United at the start of the month, in which he appeared as a 62nd-minute substitute.

Sturridge, who watched on as his teammates battled to a 1-0 victory over league leaders Leicester City on Boxing Day, has already suffered three separate injury lay-offs during manager Jurgen Klopp's short time at the club.

The former Chelsea and Manchester City forward had only just returned to first-team action before picking up the hamstring problem at St. James' Park and has still only made six appearances in all competitions this season, scoring four goals.

However, following yesterday's important win at Anfield, which ended Liverpool's run of four games without a win, Sturridge took to Twitter and confirmed he will soon be available for selection again.

The news will have come as a relief to Klopp, who registered his frustration after seeing another of his frontmen, Divock Origi, suffer a hamstring injury in yesterday's win.

The 48-year-old German coach replaced Origi with international team-mate Christian Benteke, who went on to score the only goal of the game.

"Origi did really well. I hope it is not too serious, we will see," said Klopp, following the game. "Hamstring is the s*** word of the year for me.

"It is always hamstring, hamstring, hamstring - that is the intensity of the game and fixtures.
