Meet i.Con, the World's First 'Smart Condom', Its Features Will Change the Act of Love-making Forever

Manufactured by British Condoms, i.Con is a fitness tracker for the p*nis. It provides the wearer with performance statistics while also promising to detect signs of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

British Condoms says the ring, which is used in addition to (rather than instead of) a regular condom, is the final stages of testing and will be released later in 2017.

"It's truly a revolutionary day," said the project's lead engineer Adam Leverson. "Not only have we innovated the world's first smart condom ring that'll measure pretty much every aspect of performance in the bedroom, but now I'm pleased to confirm that it will also have built-in indicators to alert the users to any potential STIs present."

i.Con is not a condom itself, it is a ring that fits over a conventional condom. It measures some sex statistics and detects some sexually transmitted diseases like chlamydia and syphilis.

According to the pre-order page, the manufacturers have not announced a release date yet and say that they will not collect money from willing customers until the product is released.

“No, i.Con is not an actual condom; it’s a ring that will sit over a condom at the base, which you can use over and over again. It is extremely comfortable, water resistant and lightweight, you won’t even know it’s there ensuring maximum pleasure and, peace of mind that you can choose any condom you wish to use in conjunction with the i.Con.

“Utilizing a Nano-chip and sensors, i.Con will measure and remember a number of different variables during your sessions. Once your session is completed, you will then be able to use the i.Con app to download your recent data which is paired to the device using bluetooth technology.

“Once you have downloaded your data, the i.Con will automatically clear its memory making way for your next session. It’s extremely simple to use.”

The device has a micro USB port for charging, which lasts for about an hour, and each charge lasts up to six to eight hours of usage.

Some of the measurements catered for includes calories burnt during sexual intercourse, total number of thrusts, frequency of sessions, total duration of session, girth measurement, speed of thrusts and average velocity of thrusts, different positions used (currently BETA testing) and average skin temperature.

British Condoms say that i.Con will be available in one size with a band adjustment feature.

“All data will be kept anonymous, but users will have the option to share their recent data with friends, or, indeed the world.”

The device comes with a one-year warranty.

The condom is available for pre-order on British Condoms’s website for $74; about N34,000 at the current parallel market rate.
