Manchester United record lowest Premier League wins in season

Manchester United will finish the current campaign with their lowest number of wins in a Premier League season, even if they beat Crystal Palace in their final fixture on Sunday.

Jose Mournho’s side were held to a 0-0 draw at Southampton on Wednesday, meaning they have recorded 17 wins this season.

They last had fewer wins in a season (16) in 1990/1991, two years before the Premier League was formed.

United have drawn 15 league matches in 2016/2017, which is the most for the club since 1991/1992, with six of those stalemates ending goalless.

Mourinho’s cannot finish higher than sixth place this term.

They won the EFL Cup in February and could clinch Champions League football, if they beat Ajax in the Europa League final next Wednesday in Stockholm.
