Widow Cries For Justice For Her Son Who Was Shot Dead Over Alleged Robbery In Benin, Says He Was Heading Home On Hearing News His Father’s Death

The mother of one Melody Walter Odiazor, one of the young men, who were allegedly shot by Vigilante men at Saint Saviour Road, Benin, Edo State told human rights activist, Kola Edokpayi, during a facts finding mission that her son was on his way home on hearing the death of his father when he was killed.

Mrs Odiazor said she is in pain after losing her husband and son same day. She is crying for justice to prevail and maintained that her son was not an armed robber but was maliciously shot.

“Last week we heard of how some Policemen attached to Saint Saviour Division brought two dead bodies and one half dead person to Special Anti Robbery Squad, Edo State Command Headquarters, saying that they were armed robbers killed by policemen from the Division” writes Kola Edokpayi.

“Few days later, we heard information in some quarters that they were not armed robbers that they were youth living in Saint Saviour axis who were killed by Vigilante men.

Just this morning, I read the following post from a friend Slim Joelblack.

“DCO saint saviour police station. You are a disgrace to the Nigeria police force. Vigilante beat and shoot innocent boys like dis. You received it from the vigilante and start doing live video on FB dat them are arm robber arrested by you and kill by you. Without any reasonable Evidence known gun found on them were are the items recovered from the on ur video no statement from the vigilante group. Nothing Nothing to prove arm robbery. My Question to you are u the PRO of Edo state command. What a passout constable of 2017 will not do u DSP did.which train school were you train. Vigilante is on the ran. Na Go use ur head carry this matter.I welcome the new commissioner of police to Edo state DAT He should use is good office and give just to the innocent boys beat like dis justice. We the saint youths and community cry out for justice. Against his inhuman act. Don my Vigilante group in conspiracy with Romanus Bravo Oboite DSP who is the divisional crime Branch officer. You are a disgrace to Nigeria police force. We are going to use you as an example so others will learn. We are show you d way out fool with big rank.
